Since the day I found out I had won 'Bury's Next Top Model', life has been a whirlwind of giving interviews, appearing in the paper, photo shoots and collecting prizes!
A week after the Wedding Fair, i went for a photo shoot with Alex Kilbee, renowned wedding photographer! I soon realised that if I am pursue modelling, if only as a hobby, I needed a portfolio...so Alex offered to shoot some photos for me! That morning, I used my voucher prize for 'Hair' and got my hair curled! I love my hair curly! At first it was so tight, I looked like Shirley Temple...but I soon shook it out and made it a bit looser! :)
Alex must have been taking photos for 2-3 hours! It was great fun, I love modelling so much! It was funny when his little kitten kept trying to squeeze into the shots!
Here are some of my favourites:
Kev and I are also looking forward to another photo shoot with Alex in the Spring as one of my prizes! We have invited our great friends Adam and Claire to join us and we are sure it will be a fantastic day....in Abbey Gardens - my favourite place in Bury! :)
Last week we also met up with out friends Inga and Tosh who are soon to become parents for the first time! We hadn't seen them since our wedding reception and we had such a lovely day! Can't wait to meet their little bundle of joy in a few short months!!!
I have been out today collecting my remaining prizes for 'Bury's Next Top Model'...my sample pack from YSL ~ very nice, my vouchers for Bella Lingerie, pamper pack from SK Clinic and Spa and my favourite of all, my new 'A' charm bracelet from Lilyo, handmade with freshwater pearls! It is gorgeous and I can't wait to wear it! :)
Some fantastic news is the my friend Kim, who I wrote about in my last blog, is finally back on the active transplant list! This is such a relief as I hate to hear that she is struggling! I just hope so much that she doesn't have to wait too long for that call for her brand new lungs! xxx
Another piece of exciting news is that I may well be a bit closer to getting 'my story' out there to help others. I had an email from a journalist saying that he had seen me in the Bury Free Press and has been reading through my blog and that my story would be an inspiration! I am really trying not to get my hopes up in case it doesn't get published but he sounded quite positive about it! It is so nice to know that people are reading my blog and beginning to understand me and my life! Even if the article doesn't get published, it is heartwarming knowing that I am touching people with my writing and my positive outlook on life after coming through difficult challenges!
As Nanny Bess always said..."never underestimate the power of the written word Ange!"
Thank you all for reading and supporting me and I hope I can continue to inspire people!
So, all in all, it has been a pretty exciting beginning to 2012! Sometimes, I can't get over how lucky I am to have such an amazing life....when Kev and I met and began our life together, I had never realised I could be so happy, now 3 years on and every year gets happier and brighter...if that is actually possible! Oh and today, Kev and I have been married 18 months...where has the time gone?!? :)
I hope to bring more exciting news in my coming blogs and will keep you all posted as much as I can!
Lots of love to you all, and special thoughts and hugs sent to Kimmy!
