Wedding Day number 2! :)

The day after the wedding we spent alone.  We went out for a walk and had some lunch and chilled by the pool in my 'Just Married' bikini.  We were so happy, boy it was hot that day!  We couldn't believe it was all over!  We spent a few more glorious days in San Diego and got ready to come home.

On 24th August, we checked out of our hotel as Mr and Mrs Bruns and made our way to the airport for our flight home.

I did get some funny looks as I made my way through the airport carrying my bouquet!  It had been made from silk so that I could keep it...the last thing I wanted to do was leave it in California so I carried it with me on and off both flights, through customs etc.  It certainly sparked a few conversations and the usual reaction - "you look too young to be married!"....mmm I have heard that once or twice haha.  Just like a few nights before the wedding, we were all out for dinner and the waitress wouldn't give a glass of wine because I didn't have my ID!  We all laughed as I said "I am getting married on Saturday!!" LOL.  Kev ran back to the hotel and got my passport so I could have my wine! :D

We got home on the 25th and had a few days to get some sleep and finish getting organised for our wedding reception - wedding day number 2!  On Saturday 28th, Kevin and I, Zoe and Gareth and Beth met up at the Corn Exchange in Bury at 9am to start decorating!  It was a huge venue and it seemed to take us forever!  Planning the reception had taken more time and organisation than the wedding day and I had lots of little surprises to go on the tables like our personalised love hearts, bubbles, balloons and photos of all the wedding party over the years (or year haha).

Then finally, it was time to start to getting ready again!  Zoe and I were off to the hairdressers to recreate our curly, flowery hair styles and we were so pleased!  Home for make up and dresses on!!!  Soon enough all the family turned up at ours so they could follow us to the Corn Exchange.

What a brilliant night it was!  All our great friends were there, many I had never met before!  We had the traditional wedding reception with the speeches, the cake cutting, first dance, presents for the wedding party and throwing the bouquet!  This was the first time I heard Kev's proper speech as he had only done a brief one in San Diego.  He moved me to tears...thanking his mum and dad for showing me love and compassion through the tough times....and thanking me for being his wife!  I was living my dream!  At that minute, I shared a look with my Aunt Linda, I was so glad they were there and that she could hear how lovely my new family were.  It made my night that there were members of my own family there!!  I love this photo, Lin took this to send to Nanny and Grandad who were unable to make the reception.

We had a large chocolate fountain, guest book made by Beth, band, DJ and lots of dancing!  The best night ever!  We had all the cheesy dances like the Macarena, Casper Slide  and all the other favourites!  I loved watching everyone have such a great time especially Zoe who came alive in all the cheesy dances! :)

We loved our cake - it had taken so much planning integrating our beach theme and personalised topper!

We all danced the night away .  It was so lovely getting a second wedding day and being surrounded by all our friends and family!  Everyone seemed so pleased for us.  I felt so lucky.  Eventually we all staggered home...wedding celebrations all done and happily starting our new life as a married couple!

Despite being so completely in love, I suddenly felt very secure!  My family couldn't get to me anymore, I was now legally not just my parents daughter, but Kevin's wife, his parents daughter-in-law and my Aunt's niece again!  I was surrounded by family...more family than I ever realised!  I just knew none of them would ever let me get hurt!  For the first time, I didn't feel alone and it was such an uplifting, wonderful feeling!  Love to all my wonderful friends and family, I couldn't have done it without you! xxx
